I still remember this moment of 20 years ago: I’ve just had the painful experience to close my company in NYC & I was so grateful to fly to Europe & to enjoy some rest & be surrounded by a group of close friends on a sailing boat alongside the Lycian Coast when Hervé was so proud to share his company’s slogan ‘together to get there’. We were laughing & we teased him as it sounded so cliché. He remained bloody serious. 20 years later, in an environment that has become even more demanding & in the midst of the pandemic, ‘together to get there’ seems more relevant than ever: we’re all part of several teams: we either come together, join our forces, support & challenge each other, feel confident & accomplish great stuff as a team; or we stay by ourselves, we live in our own individualized world, in which some enjoy playing small while others suffer from being isolated & siloed, from burn-out & bore-out. We’re all interconnected & part of teams, and it is the responsibility of each and anyone of us to get out of our cocoon & comfort zones to contribute to building dream teams that enhance collaboration & deliver great results. These highly energizing & successful teams can be considered as being both ‘positive’ & ‘productive’. And it feels so good when we are part of such a team or when we observe them, whether it’s a sports team that wins a tournament or championship, or a philharmonic orchestra or theatrical company that plays so well together that it creates emotional well-being. In the next articles, I’ll be happy to share some thoughts about what drives high productivity & high positivity in teams. Stay tuned. #teamperformance #highperformingteams #sustainableperformance #productivity #positivity
